I dream of traveling...what should I do first?

There are so many awe-inspiring places to travel. Have you made a bucket list of places you'd like to visit? Do you already know somebody who could host you if you visit a foreign country? Do you already have a passport so you can travel to a foreign country?

My bucket list began a couple of years before I retired. I taught special education to 7th-12th-grade students in Genesee, Idaho for 11 years. I became friends with the Spanish teacher and she encouraged me to accompany her group of students to Belize with EF Tours. I also began saving for a 2-month adventure to Thailand and Cambodia.

I wanted to get an idea of how much to save for our Thailand trip. I found this handy Travel Cost Widget. It can be used for any country and you choose budget trip, medium cost or luxury. Of course I chose the budget option.

We spent two months in Canada/Alaska. Our budget didn't account for the much higher costs of fuel while we were traveling with our toyhauler trailer.
