Idaho to Colorado Road Trip

In 2012 we meandered to Highlands Ranch, CO to visit our kids; we explored Idaho, Wyoming,  Montana, and South Dakota along the way, traveling over 3,000 miles.

Some of the notable stops were: Nez Perce National Historic Park (ID), Devoto Giant Cedars (ID), Little Bighorn National Park (MT), Connor Battle Historic Park (WY), Roubaix Lake (SD), Deadwood (SD), Wind Cave National Park (SD), Wind Cave Tour, Custer State Park (SD), Mount Coolidge Lookout Tour, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, Mount Rushmore (SD), Mesa Verde National Park (CO) and Dry Lake Campground (CO).  We returned home via Yellowstone Park, Teton National Park, and Craters of the Moon.

We saved money by camping instead of renting motel rooms and taking advantage of as many free things to see and do as we could. Our biggest expense was gas and groceries.
